PIANO

Learning to play the piano recreationally or professionally is a lifetime skill that is beneficial for any person, whether youth or adult. The Scottsdale Studio of Music teachers can help every student to meet their goals, whether to be a well-rounded amateur pianist or to develop advanced college preparatory skills.  The studio also offers unique performance opportunities in our own intimate recital room.

THE LESSONS

Private lessons are available weekly, for any age or level, in 30 minute, 45 minute, or hour long sessions. The studio highly recommends 45 minute lessons for late intermediate level students.

THE CLASSES

Group piano/voice classes are in “mommy and me” format for 3-5 year olds.  These classes teach fundamental piano, singing, and ear training skills that will help children to easily transition into lessons on any instrument.

WHAT SETS OUR STUDIO APART

Music learning should be fun, inspiring, and fulfilling, no matter the age or level of the student. Our teachers strive to make the piano learning experience exciting and interesting during all stages of learning, whether beginning, intermediate, or advanced. The studio offers a unique way to perform in our own intimate recital room, which is more inviting and less intimidating than a large recital hall.

BENEFITS

Versatility: Playing the piano develops music skills in ear training, listening, coordination, music reading and performance skills that are very easily transferrable into another instrument.

Intelligence: Music learning has been proven to develop and stimulate the brain differently than any other kind of learning. Playing an instrument helps to increase focus and relieves stress.

EXTRA LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

ENSEMBLE

The Scottsdale Studio of Music emphasizes the musical and learning value of students playing with other musicians their own age and level. Enrolled students have the opportunity to join other student musicians from the studio to play in groups, which teaches team work through music.

THEORY CLASSES

These classes teach music theory and ear training as a supplement to private lessons and/or classes. Signing up for theory classes allows a student to advance more quickly during their instrument training of the weekly lessons, so that lessons can focus more on musicianship skills. Classes begin the week of January 30th, 2012.
