Ms. Meghan

Meghan Folkerts, a native of Scottsdale, completed her Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2012 and her Master’s of Music from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2015. After graduation, she pursued a career in opera, and she has sung with Florentine Opera, Seattle Opera, Shreveport Opera, Seagle Music Colony, and Opera in the Ozarks. Her favorite roles include Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), Carmen (Carmen), and Cherubino (Marriage of Figaro). In addition to mainstage roles, Ms. Meghan was an Outreach Artist with each company, and she got to share her love and knowledge of opera and singing with hundreds of students!

Ms. Meghan loves to teach voice to students of all levels, from beginners, to those who want to audition for performance opportunities or college scholarships. Ms. Meghan believes that teaching voice is a joy because every voice is different and everyone can discover the love of singing through their own unique sound! With an extensive background in classical singing, Ms. Meghan uses those building blocks to help students of all genres, from opera to musical theatre to folk songs.

Ms. Meghan started her own musical journey by playing the piano and flute, and she loves to bring her passion of music to instrumental students as well as voice students. Ms. Meghan believes that everyone can find joy in music, and she loves to help her students see that learning music is fun!
