Membership Tuition

Registration Fee

A $35 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of initial sign-up. A $10 discount is available for siblings and returning members. A returning member is defined as any student who re-enrolls after a gap of one (1) or more months between enrollment periods.

Monthly Tuition Structure

Tuition is charged as a flat monthly fee. Most months will include four (4) or five (5) lessons, and occasionally three (3) lessons in months where major national holidays are observed. Over the course of a calendar year, students receive an average of 48 lessons. For a complete calendar, please visit scottsdalestudioofmusic.com or funtimesmusicschool.com.

Multi-Student Discount

Accounts with three (3) or more active students are eligible for a $10 monthly discount per account. To qualify, all students on the account must be enrolled at the 2025 August rate.

Annual Administrative Fee

An annual administrative fee of $30 per student will be automatically charged on the enrollment anniversary. This fee covers entry for the student and their guests into all recitals throughout the year, as well as participation in school-wide activities, events, and prize programs.

Additional Costs

Educational materials, music books, instrument rentals, festivals, examinations, and accessories are not included in monthly tuition and will be billed separately as needed. 

Payment Terms

Membership tuition is due on the first of each month and will be automatically billed to your credit card (Visa or Mastercard). A $25 late fee will be applied to any payment received after the 10th of the month.

Membership Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Notice Requirements

To cancel your membership, please notify our studio via text or email. Verbal communication will no longer be accepted as a valid form of notice. Once you reach out, one of our administrators will follow up to conduct a brief phone survey regarding your experience.

Cancellation Timeline

Notice of cancellation must be submitted by the 25th of the current month. Once received, your subscription will end at the close of that same month. If notice is given after the 25th, your membership will remain active through the following month, and tuition will be charged as usual. Students are welcome to attend or skip any remaining lessons during their final month.

Special Circumstances

In cases of unexpected injury or accidents, tuition may be transferred to a family member for lesson use. However, tuition is non-refundable under any circumstance.

School-Initiated Termination

Scottsdale Studio of Music reserves the right to terminate a membership at any time. In such cases, prorated tuition will be refunded.

Attendance and Make-Up Policy

Attendance Expectations

Students are expected to arrive on time for their weekly lessons. Tardiness may result in a shortened lesson, as instructors are not obligated to extend lesson times for late arrivals.

Make-Up Lesson Credits

For private lessons, a Make-Up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is canceled with at least 24-hour advance notice via phone, text to the studio, or the online student portal. Please do not contact instructors directly to cancel or reschedule. Each Make-Up Lesson Credit expires 45 days from the date it is issued.

Make-Up Lesson Credits may be used to schedule a lesson with your regular teacher or with another available instructor. They may also be used to try a different instrument or be transferred to another family member or friend. Once a make-up lesson is scheduled, it cannot be rescheduled or canceled.

Same-Day Cancellations

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, including same-day illness, do not qualify for a Make-Up Lesson Credit. In the event your instructor is unavailable, a qualified substitute teacher will be arranged. If a substitute is not available, a Teacher Absence Credit will be issued to your account and will remain valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

Credit Limitations

No more than three (3) Make-Up Lesson Credits may be pending on an account at any given time. Credits hold no cash value and may not be applied toward monthly tuition. All unused credits expire 45 days after membership ends.

10-Lesson Packages

For students on 10-Lesson Packages, all lessons must be used within three months of the purchase date. These lessons are non-refundable, and standard cancellation policies apply.

Group Classes

For group classes, no make-up credits or refunds will be issued for missed classes. Scottsdale Studio of Music and Funtimes Music School reserves the right to cancel group classes due to low enrollment. In that case, students will be notified and offered the opportunity to transfer to another class or receive a full refund if they choose not to continue.

Summer Lessons Policy (June 1 – July 31)

Account Holds for Extended Absences

A temporary hold may be placed on your account in the case of extended summer absences. Please review the following guidelines:

For absences of fewer than 5 weeks: A hold is not available. Instead, Make-Up Lesson Credits will be issued for missed lessons, and full monthly tuition will still be charged on the 1st of each month, even if your absence spans two months.

For absences of 5 to 8 consecutive weeks: A hold may be placed on your account. Tuition for your return month must be paid in advance when the hold is requested. No lesson credits will be issued during the hold, and no additional charges will occur.

For absences longer than 8 weeks: We are unable to hold your time slot. In this case, your membership will be canceled, and your lesson time will be released to other students. Should you wish to return, re-enrollment will be subject to availability.

Referral Program

We offer a $25 referral credit to any family that refers a new student to the studio. To redeem the credit, the referred family must complete one full month of lessons. After that, please email us at scottsdaleschoolofmusic@gmail.com (North Scottsdale location) or funtimesmusicschool@gmail.com (Ahwatukee Foothills location) with both your name and the referred family's name. Once verified, the referral credit will be applied to your account.

Photo & Video Release

Scottsdale Studio of Music and Funtimes Music School are granted permission to photograph and/or video students for use in promotional materials, including brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and social media.

If you prefer your child's image not be used, please email us at scottsdaleschoolofmusic@gmail.com (North Scottsdale) or funtimesmusicschool@gmail.com (Ahwatukee). Your email request will be noted, and your child's image will be excluded from all promotional materials.

Injury Release & Liability Waiver

Participation in music lessons and studio activities is voluntary and done at your own risk. By enrolling, you agree to assume all responsibility for any risk of injury or harm to the enrolled student (child or adult) during participation at Scottsdale Studio of Music or Funtimes Music School.

You agree to release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scottsdale Studio of Music, Funtimes Music School, and all affiliated staff and officers from any liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, or expenses related to injuries sustained as a result of participation in studio programs.

General Waiver and Disclaimer

A waiver of any provision or breach of this agreement by either party does not constitute a waiver of any future or additional breach of the same or any other provision.

Scottsdale Studio of Music and Funtimes Music School reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. All policies are considered effective upon enrollment, and terms are subject to change.
