Ms. Selene
Selene Yeseul Kim is a pianist and educator with experience in both jazz and classical music. With a rich background in cross-cultural settings, she has taught music since 2010 in Korea, Thailand, and the United States. She also enjoys learning new languages and is currently studying Spanish (as of 2025).
She holds a master’s degree in Jazz Composition from Washington State University, where she received a full scholarship and stipend while serving as an instructor for group piano classes and working as an accompanist. In Korea, she earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Myongji University and her master’s in worship music (keyboard) from Seoul Jangsin University.
While in Korea, she also performed and arranged for various K-pop artists, television dramas, and live concerts. As the leader of the violin-piano duo Clazzic, she released an album and published a sheet music collection.
One of Selene’s core teaching philosophies is making music joyful. She values understanding each student’s needs and guiding them on a musical journey that is both meaningful and enjoyable. She believes that these experiences lay the foundation for a lifelong love of music.
